EMT & Paramedic Students - Meet your Medical Director

Guardian College is pleased to have as Medical Director for the EMS Division Murry Sturkie, DO, FACOEP, FACEP.  Dr. Sturkie is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences and a former firefighter/paramedic.  He currently serves as the chairman of the Idaho EMS Physicians Commission and as the ED Medical Director at Weiser Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Sturkie also serves as the medical director for a number of local EMS agencies and is a partner of Emergency Medicine of Idaho, the physician's group that staffs the St. Luke's Health System Emergency Departments.

In addition to his local and state duties, Dr. Sturkie serves on a number of national boards related to Emergency Medicine and prehospital care.  Students may find him in the St. Luke's or Weiser Emergency Departments during their clinical rotations, overseeing their labs and lectures, or reviewing their files for program completion.  All paramedic students have an exit interview with Dr. Sturkie before graduation.
