EMT & Paramedic Training

Guardian College offers two levels of training:

  • EMT (Basic)
  • Paramedic

EMT Basic Course
The EMT Basic course is the beginning of a career in pre-hospital medical care. This course includes the roles and responsibilities of the EMT, basic procedures, lifting and moving patients, airway management skills, physical assessment, and an introduction to life saving procedures for the pre-hospitalized patient or accident victim.  Prerequisite: Healthcare Provider CPR.

Paramedic Program
The Paramedic program consists of lecture sessions, practice labs, and clinical contacts. Following successful completion of the in-house series, students complete an ambulance internship.  Prerequisites include EMT Basic certification, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and ECG Interpretation.  The program includes 15 courses.
Program Goal: To prepare competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains.
